SEMI-FINALS
The top Medium Conventional steelbands join together with the top Large Conventional steelbands, for the Semi-Final.
The Medium and Large Conventional Steelband 2015 Semi-Final scheduled at
The Grand Stand, Queen's Park Savannah, Port of Spain, Trinidad; on
Sunday, 1st February 2015, from 12:00am (noon).

Anthem start 12:17Hrs = 00:17pm; Sun 01 Feb 2015

MEDIUM CONVENTIONAL

Medium SF Bands start 12:20Hrs = 00:20pm
Medium SF ends 17:09Hrs = 05:09pm

Average SF turn-around 20.6 mins per Medium band

Eleven (11) of the top Medium Conventional steelbands out of the Semi-Finals,
because of a 2 way tie in the 10th cut-off position, now qualify for the Grand Finals.

LARGE CONVENTIONAL

Large SF start 17:52Hrs = 05:52pm
Large SF ends 23:45Hrs = 11:45pm

Average turn-around = 23.5 mins per Large steelband

Ten (10) of the top Large Conventional steelbands out of the Semi-Finals, now qualify for the Grand Finals.

Gay* == Glad, Happy, Exuberant. A handle used in the early 1960's.
When travelled TT's brought back the news that 'Gay' was synonymous to homosexuality abroad; this shocked the tidy conservative secular adherents of TT. 'Gay' was dropped from the steelband names; however the 'Gay' now remains only as a label of public record and in cultural memory.
