CONVENTIONAL & TRADITIONAL Steelbands

Sixteen top steelbands, out of a total of 52 performing conventional bands, will make it to the National Panorama Finals on Saturday 21st February 1998 at The Grand Stand, Queens Park Savannah, Trinidad. These are top class bands with an enormous range of composition, arrangement and styles, not to mention the skills of the players themselves. With everyone wanting to pry loose Renegades, the resulting inventiveness will be on abundant display.

Unless subtleties of Pan Trinbagoe's interpretation of the rules intervenes; the joint position of Hatters and Skiffle Bunch bring the total to 1 above the stipulated 15 that were first expected to perform.

Of those steelbands that have not made it to the high rank; the delightful arrangements presented by Pamberi and Potential Symphony; the dynamic power of Petrotrin Deltones and Players Symphony; and for just sweet melodious pan White Oak Harmonites, Couva Joylanders and Southern Marines Steelband Foundation will remain fond memories.
